Pick a land on the map — like the Maths Mine or History Castle. Each land has 5 places to visit.
At every place: 📖 read the story first (it has all the answers!), then ⚔️ pass the challenge — 5 questions about what you just read.
You can play a whole land each day — every place in it, plus the boss! But once you pass a place it closes (🌙) until tomorrow, so you can't just repeat the same one. Fail? No worries — that doesn't count, so keep trying until you pass.
When you've cleared everything in a land, it shows "done for today" — come back tomorrow for another go. The ⛏️ Maths Mine never closes, and the Daily Challenge and battles are open all day too!
Get 3 right = ⭐. Get 4 right = ⭐⭐. Get ALL 5 right = ⭐⭐⭐ and a +5 gem bonus!
Earn at least one star to unlock the next place. Don't worry if you miss — you can try again, and the game always explains the answer!
Pass a challenge and you'll catch a Pal — a creature with its own card, special move and attack power!
There are 243 Pals across two realms: Commons, RARES 🔷, shiny LEGENDARIES 🌟, MYTHICS 💠 (only in the shop!) — and just 3 DIAMOND TIER Pals 💎, the rarest of all. Diamonds can't be bought or traded: they're found by chance when you pass a level, about once in 100 — get one and everyone will be jealous! See them all in your 🏰 Pal Stable.
On tricky questions, tap Ask a Pal for help — your Pal scares away TWO wrong answers.
⚠️ But careful: afterwards it might run away! Rarer Pals are braver. Use hints wisely...
Get at least 3/5 at all 5 places in a land to wake its BOSS. Bosses are serious: there's a ⏰ timer on every question, and if you get one wrong the boss heals itself!
Answer 3 in a row for a 💥 CRITICAL HIT (double damage). Beating a boss gives you a 1-in-3 chance of catching a LEGENDARY Pal 🌟 — no luck? Beat it again for another go!
Beat all six land bosses to collect their 🔮 seals and break the Champion's seal. This is the hardest fight in the game: 15 questions, and it changes through 3 terrifying phases — AWAKENED 🐲, ENRAGED 👹, then FINAL FORM 💀.
The angrier it gets, the more damage it absorbs, the harder it strikes (up to 3 hits at once!) — and in its final form it drains life to heal itself. Bring your 3–4 strongest Pals!
🏆 Win and its hoard is yours: big XP, gems, and a guaranteed LEGENDARY Pal (with a 1-in-4 chance of a MYTHIC!). But beware — victory shatters all six seals, so you must conquer every land boss again to earn another challenge.
Defeat the Shadow Champion and the sky tears open, unlocking a whole second realm with six harder lands: 🦅 Sky Aviary, 🔺 Nile Kingdom, 🏛️ Roman Empire, 🧬 Living Lab, 🌳 Wild Realm and 🚀 Cosmos Frontier.
The questions are for older explorers — proper science, real history and deep space. There are 108 brand-new Pals to catch, and a fearsome new final boss: the 👁️ Eternal Sovereign (340 HP!).
Use the buttons at the top of the map to travel between realms whenever you like — your first six lands are always there to replay.
Gems are precious — you earn them by doing brilliantly, not just by playing:
🥇 First time you get 5/5 on a level: +2 💎 · 👑 Beat a land boss: +5 💎 · 🐲 Beat the Shadow Champion: +10 💎 · 🗓️ Daily Challenge: up to +3 💎 · ⚔️ Win a battle: +3 💎. Saving up takes time — that's what makes the best Pals special!
Spend gems on Crystals that contain a random Pal — Mystery (15💎), Rare (40💎), Legendary (120💎) or MYTHIC (250💎)!
Or trade up the ladder: 4 Commons → 1 Rare, 3 Rares → 1 Legendary, and 5 Legendaries → 1 MYTHIC. Traded Pals leave your stable for good — trade carefully!

Pal Battle is a free educational quiz game for ages 6–10 covering maths (KS1–KS2), history, science, computing, robotics and geography. Every question comes with a child-friendly explanation, and reading the story pages is required before each quiz. The site collects no personal data and has no accounts, chat or ads — progress is saved only in this browser on this device (clearing browser data erases it). Battle links and Passport codes contain only game data, never personal information.
